How to add/register a camera to your BlackVue account?

    NOTE: Adding a camera to the camera list is not available in the BlackVue Web Viewer. Cameras can only be added using the BlackVue App.

    Add a camera using Seamless Pairing

    1. Log in to the app and go to the Camera tab.

     

    2. Tap the (+ Camera) button and select Seamless Pairing model.

     

    3. Find your camera from the list and select it to continue to the next step.

     

    4. Waive your hand on the left side of the camera where the touch sensor is located for camera verification.

    **If you have the Box model, press the SOS button.

     

    5. If you do not want to connect your camera to the Cloud, tap Later to finish adding the camera.

    Otherwise, tap the Register and connect button

     

    6. Select a method how to connect your camera to the Cloud: SIM card or Wi-Fi hotspot. Tap Next.

     

    7. Based on your choice of method of Cloud connection, please follow further procedures below.

    7-1. SIM card 

    (a) Select SIM card for the SIM installed in your camera to be detected.

    **If a BlackVue SIM is inserted in the camera (LTE models only) or an LTE module is connected to the camera, the app will continue to the BlackVue SIM registration process. 

     

    (b) Check your 3rd party SIM card information, particularly the Network carrier and the Access Point Name (APN). Tap Save to finish adding the camera and tap the OK button.

     

    7-2. Wi-Fi Hotspot

    (a) Connect your app to the camera via Wi-Fi first ["BlackVue" wants to join Wi-Fi Network "BlackVueXXX-EXXXXX"] to start the SIM activation process on your camera.

     

    (b) Select the Wi-Fi hotspot SSID from the list detected around your camera.

     

    (c) Type the Wi-Fi hotspot password. Tap Save and OK to finish adding the camera.

     

     

    Add a camera using Wi-Fi connection

    1. Log in to the app and go to the Camera tab.

     

    2. Tap + Camera button and select Wi-Fi-only models.

     

    3. Connect the app to the camera via Wi-Fi settings for camera verification and tap Continue.

    **You can click How to connect your phone to the camera to see further instructions. Alternatively, you can go to your phone's settings and choose WiFi. Locate the camera's SSID, click on it, and enter a password, if asked. Go back to the BlackVue app and press Continue to proceed.

     

    4. When the camera is successfully verified, disconnect your camera from the Wi-Fi settings.

    After disconnecting the camera, tap Continue for the next step.

     

    5. If you do not want to connect your camera to the Cloud, tap Later to finish adding the camera.

    Otherwise, tap the Register and connect button

     

    6. Select a method how to connect your camera to the Cloud: SIM card or Wi-Fi hotspot. Tap Next.

     

    7. Based on your choice of method of Cloud connection, please follow further procedures below.

    7-1. SIM card 

    (a) Connect your app to the camera via Wi-Fi first to detect the SIM installed in your camera.

    **If a BlackVue SIM is inserted in the camera (LTE models only) or an LTE module is connected to the camera, the app will continue to the BlackVue SIM registration process.

     

    (b) Check your 3rd party SIM card information, particularly the Network carrier and the Access Point Name (APN). Tap Save to finish adding the camera and then the OK button.

     

    7-2. Wi-Fi Hotspot

    (a) Connect your app to the camera via Wi-Fi first ["BlackVue" wants to join Wi-Fi Network "BlackVueXXX-EXXXXX"] to start the SIM activation process on your camera.

     

    (b) Select the Wi-Fi hotspot SSID from the list detected around your camera.

     

    (c) Type the Wi-Fi hotspot password. Tap Save and OK to finish adding the camera.

     

    Add a camera (Wi-Fi only access; Cloud not Active)

    This means that you are adding your camera to the camera list and will access the settings and recordings via Wi-Fi connection only (previously the "Connect to camera" function).

     

    After following steps 1 through 4 above (Add camera using Seamless pairing or Add camera using Wi-Fi connection section), you can tap Later to skip the Cloud registration/connection and access the camera through Wi-Fi only.

     

     

     

    How to continue adding a camera for Cloud connection

    *Applies to cameras that were added to the camera list of which settings and recordings are accessible via Wi-Fi connection only.

     

    From the camera list, you can tap the Cloud connection steps to continue setting up the Cloud.

    Click Register and connect then follow steps 6 and 7 above (Add camera using Seamless pairing or Add camera using Wi-Fi connection section) to continue.
