How to Switch From Cloud Mode View to WiFi Mode View
When a camera is registered to the Cloud with a hot spot tied with it, the Cloud Mode View is what first appears when you click on that camera in the camera list. You can simply toggle the button on the top middle portion of the screen from Cloud to WiFi. The app will then require you to connect to the camera's network (Join) and the WiFi Mode View will be displayed.
To switch from WiFi Mode View to Cloud Mode view, simply toggle the same button from WiFi back to Cloud.
In case switching from Cloud Mode View to WiFi Mode View fails, what you see below will be displayed on the screen.
What if you upgrade to the new app while your dashcam is already added in the previous app? What happens to the Cloud Mode View and WiFi Mode View? Check the two scenarios below.
Scenario 1: A Cloud-compatible dashcam was added to the camera list in "Connect to Camera" and in "Connect to Cloud" (i.e. registered to the Cloud) on the previous app
1) Go to the Camera tab and select the camera. You will be directed to the Camera Preview screen. What appears is the Cloud Mode View.
2) On the top middle portion of the screen, toggle the button from Cloud to WiFi. The app will try to connect to the camera's WiFi.
3) After successfully connecting to the camera (Join), the WiFi Mode View screen will be displayed.
4) You can toggle the button on the top middle portion from WiFi back to Cloud again to switch back to the Cloud Mode View.
5) The app will ask if the connection to the camera via WiFi will be cut. Choosing the Cut connection option from the pop-up will lead you back to the Cloud Mode View screen.
6) Wait between 1 to 2 minutes for the camera to reconnect to the Cloud. It may take time for the camera to get connected to the Cloud, as this depends on the internet connection.
Scenario 2: A Cloud-compatible dashcam was added only to the camera list in "Connect to Camera" and is not registered to the Cloud on the previous app
1) Go to the Camera tab and select the camera. You will be directed to the Camera Preview screen. What appears is the WiFi Mode View.
2) On the top middle portion of the screen, toggle the button from WiFi to Cloud. The app will display a pop-up telling the user to register the camera to the Cloud. Press the Connect to Cloud button to continue.
3) Click the Register and connect button to register your camera to the Cloud. You can then proceed to connecting a hot spot to your camera and the app will look for nearby hot spot networks. Proceed by selecting a network and enter its password.
4) After successfully saving the hot spot information, you can toggle the button on the top middle portion from Cloud back to WiFi again to switch back to the WiFi Mode View.
Scenario 3: A Cloud-compatible dashcam was added to the camera list in "Connect to Camera" and in "Connect to Cloud" (i.e. registered to the Cloud) on the previous app [For older models, before the X Plus Series]
1) Tap the button of the camera on the camera list to reveal the submenu.
2) Click Connect to camera Wi-Fi and press Join for the app to connect to the camera.
3) The recordings found in the SD card will be displayed. This will be the WiFi Mode View of older camera models.
As for the Cloud Mode View of older camera models, you can simply click the camera from the list and three tabs will be displayed on the screen (Camera, Cloud, and Live Event Upload).
