Wi-Fi Settings

    Camera Models: X Plus and earlier camera models

    1. App Access: Wi-Fi Mode (no login required)

    *Note: The camera should be powered on and running.

    BlackVue App > Wi-Fi Mode > Camera on the List > Join (Network) > Three Dots in Vertical Stack (Upper Right Corner) > Camera Settings > Firmware Settings

     

    2. Cloud Mode (requires log in)

    *Note: The camera does not need to be on and running. Any changes saved in the settings will be applied when the camera turns on and get connected to the Cloud.

    BlackVue App > Get started > Log in > Camera on the List > Three Dots in Vertical Stack (Upper Right Corner) > Camera Settings > Firmware Settings

     

    Wi-Fi Settings

    • Login Credentials
      • Camera's SSID and Password
    • Wi-Fi Band
      • 2.4GHz or 5GHz (for 900S, 900X, 900X Plus)
    • Wi-Fi Auto Turn On (only for 900S and older models)
      • Wi-Fi will activate upon powering camera on
    • Wi-Fi Auto Turn Off
      • Can be selected after disabling Cloud Service ( Firmware > Cloud > Enable Cloud Service > OFF)

     

    Web Viewer (requires log in)

    BlackVue Web Viewer > Start Web Viewer > Log in > Camera on the List > Three Dots in Vertical Stack (Upper Right Corner) > Camera Settings > Firmware Settings > Advanced (WiFi)

     

    BlackVue PC Viewer (SD Card Viewer)

    NOTE: This shows information of the firmware settings of the user's camera when the SD card is plugged into the computer and the camera settings are accessed via the SD Card Viewer option of the BlackVue PC Viewer.

    Login credentials

    You can change the dashcam’s SSID and Wi-Fi login password.

     

    WiFi Band

    Only DR900 Series and DR970X Series support dual-band, so the user can switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Other Cloud-compatible dashcam models support the 2.4GHz band only.

     

    Wi-Fi auto turn off

    Wi-Fi will automatically switch on when you turn on the dashcam and remain on. You can adjust the settings for Wi-Fi to automatically turn off.

     

    ON

    OFF

    Wi-Fi auto turn off

    Wi-Fi turns off it is inactive for 10 minutes.

    Wi-Fi does not turn off automatically.

     Note
    •  Wi-Fi auto turn off setting does not affect Wi-Fi hotspot for Cloud connectivity.

     

    LTE

    If you are using an LTE-supported BlackVue camera, you will be able to find an LTE setting. If you want to use the mobile data, turn on LTE.
