Recommended Specs/Configuration for 4K and HEVC playback

    4K is not supported on many devices. So, the performance varies depending on your device and OS version. In general, mobile devices manufactured before 2016 will not handle HEVC files very well.

     

    Following are the recommended specifications for the devices which can play 4K files recorded by DR900S.

     

    Computer

    Windows Desktop PC

     

    4K/AVC & 4K/HEVC

    CPU

    7th Generation Intel Core i7 processor equivalent or better

    Graphics card

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 equivalent or better

    RAM

    8 GB or more

    OS

    Windows 7 or later

     * Files might not play on laptop PCs with the same specifications.

     

    Mac

     

    4K/AVC

    4K/HEVC

    Hardware

    MacBook – 2013 or newer

    27-inch iMac – late 2015 or newer MacBook – early 2016 or newer

    MacBook Pro – 2016 or newer

    OS

    OS X 10.10 Yosemite or later

    macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later

     

    Even if your computer meets these specs, you may find the 4K video plays back choppy.  This is due to the immense processing power required to play 4K videos.

    In general, computers manufactured before 2016 may not handle HEVC files well.
