What types of BlackVue cameras are there?

BlackVue offers a wide range of single-channel (1CH), dual-channel (2CH), and three-channel (3CH) dashcams. One-channel cameras record only the front view of the car while dual-channel models record both the front and rear views of a vehicle. In addition, the three-channel models can now cover the front, rear, and interior views of a vehicle. By design and functionality, BlackVue offers eight types of cameras that suit the needs of different users.

 

Three-channel Cloud Dash Cameras

  • Front Cam: 2.1 megapixels STARVIS™ sensor / Full HD (1920×1080 @60FPS) / View angle: 139 degrees.
  • Rear Cam (DR750X-3CH Plus): 2.1 megapixels STARVIS™ sensor / Full HD (1920×1080 @30FPS) / View angle: 139 degrees (116 degrees for DR770X BOX Series)
  • Interior Cam: (DR750X-3CH Plus/3CH TRUCK Plus) 1.27 megapixels (DR770X Box Series) 2.1 megapixels Sony CMOS sensor with infrared LEDs / Full HD (1280×720 @30FPS) / View angle: 119 degrees.
  • Exterior Waterproof Cam: (DR750X-3CH TRUCK Plus/DR770X BOX Truck) 2.1 megapixels with 6 infrared LEDs / Full HD (1920×1080 @30FPS) / View angle: 116 degrees.
  • Driver Monitoring Cam: (DR750X-3CH DMS Plus / DMS TRUCK Plus) 1280×720 @10FPS / View angle: 54 degrees.

  • GPS, Wi-Fi, and Optional LTE

    • GPS: visualize the location of your vehicle on the map during video playback and overlay speed on videos (can be hidden in settings).

    • Wi-Fi: lets you connect to your BlackVue with a smartphone or tablet. Wi-Fi also lets your BlackVue connect to BlackVue Cloud via any home or mobile Wi-Fi hotspot (router).

    • LTE: for the best Cloud experience, the included USB Hub lets you connect the optional LTE connectivity module* along with the driver-facing USB camera.

LTE Dash Cameras

  • Built-in 4G LTE connectivity makes connecting to the Cloud hassle-free.
  • [DR750-2CH LTE, DR750X-2CH LTE Plus, DR770X-2CH LTE] Dual Full HD 1080p cameras (front 60 / rear 30 frames per second) provide fluid videos of the front and back of your car at a wide 139° view angle.
  • [DR970X-2CH LTE] Front camera: 8 megapixels CMOS sensor recording in 4K Ultra High Definition (3840×2160) at 30FPS (155-degree view angle) and Rear camera: 2.1 megapixels Sony STARVIS™ recording in Full HD (1920×1080) at 30FPS (139-degree view angle).
  • Sony STARVIS™ imaging sensors—a benchmark in video clarity under low light—equip both front and rear cameras, so whether you are driving or parked, crucial details are captured perfectly.

  • LTE, WI-FI, and GPS ALL BUILT-IN
    • GPS adds location and speed data to your videos
      • Speed: speed data will be overlaid in the video (can be turned off in the settings).
        • You can set the speed display in Kilometers per hour (Km/h) or Miles per hour (Mph).
      • Location: visualize your vehicle’s location in the BlackVue App or Viewer’s Map.
    • Connect to your dashcam over Wi-Fi or the Cloud
      • Wi-Fi lets you connect to your BlackVue with a smartphone or tablet.
      • LTE gives you access to your BlackVue over the Cloud from anywhere, anytime.

4K Cloud Dash Cameras

  • Front cam: 8 megapixels sensor / 4K Ultra High Definition (3840×2160 @30FPS) / View angle: 162 degrees (155 degrees for DR970X-1CH, 2CH / DR970X-2CH LTE)
  • Rear cam (DR900X-2CH): 2.1 megapixels STARVIS™ sensor / Full HD (1920×1080 @30FPS) / View angle: 139 degrees.
  • Interior cam (DR900X-2CH IR): 2.1 megapixels with infrared LEDs / Full HD (1920×1080 @30FPS) / View angle: 145 degrees.
  • Fast Wi-Fi, GPS, and Optional LTE
    • GPS: visualize the location of your vehicle on the map during video playback and overlay speed on videos (can be hidden in settings).
    • Wi-Fi: connect to your BlackVue with a smartphone or tablet and download files at blazing speed. Wi-Fi also lets your BlackVue connect to BlackVue Cloud via any home or mobile Wi-Fi hotspot (router).
    • LTE: connect the optional LTE connectivity module* via the USB port for the best Cloud experience.

  • DR590X-2CH IR: Dual Full HD (1920×1080 @30FPS) / View angle: 139 degrees (front) / 140 degrees (interior).
  • With the front camera’s Sony STARVIS imaging sensor, you get awesome image clarity day and night.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi and Optional Connectivity
    • Built-in Wi-Fi: DR590X Series features built-in Wi-Fi to let you connect with the BlackVue App. A button lets you turn Wi-Fi on/off. Additionally, you can configure the Wi-Fi activation behavior in the settings (Auto Turn On, Auto Turn Off).
    • USB port: The USB port lets you connect a GPS receiver or LTE-M and GPS receiver combo module.

Simple Dash Cameras

Taxi Dash Cameras

The front camera processes and saves all the videos to the microSD card. The interior camera connects to the front camera via a video cable. This configuration has multiple advantages over all-in-one models:

  • Keep the front camera hidden behind the rearview mirror.
  • Position and orient the interior camera independently.
  • The interior camera can be swapped for a regular rear camera (sold separately) if needed.

INFRARED INTERIOR CAMERA

  • The Infrared Camera secures the interior of your vehicle. The infrared LEDs (invisible to the eye) automatically activate in the dark.
  • The camera’s spectacular clarity even in pitch-black lighting conditions will procure peace of mind to taxi and rideshare drivers. 
  • With the BlackVue App or Viewer, you can further customize the way it operates:
    • 180° Image Rotation to accommodate your setup: if the image comes out upside down, just activate this feature and it will fix the image orientation.
    • Security LED ON/OFF (for stealth in Parking Mode)

Truck Cameras

  • The DR750X-2CH TRUCK is ideal to secure most large commercial trucks. The waterproof infrared rear camera connects to the front unit via a 15m (49ft) video cable, with an option of 20m (65ft). This allows monitoring not only the road behind but also cargo loading and unloading operations.
  • Catch detailed footage of the front surroundings of your vehicle at 1080p Full HD 60FPS and rear at 1080p Full HD 30FPS.
  • The front camera has a 139° wide angle of view and a cutting-edge Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor and the rear camera has a 120° angle of view and a 2.1MP CMOS sensor augmented by 6 IR LEDs for clarity in total darkness.
  • With its metal waterproof casing, the rear camera of the DR750X-2CH TRUCK is built to withstand most weather conditions.

Driver Monitoring System (DMS) Cameras

  • The BlackVue DMS Dashcams all feature the DMC200 AI-powered Driver Monitoring Camera with STARVIS™ sensor and four infrared LEDs.

  • The infrared Driver-Monitoring Camera (DMC200) is designed to improve driver safety by helping prevent risky behavior. Its algorithm can detect statuses such as:

    • Drowsy driving (with initial and repeated drowsiness warning)
    • Distracted driving (looking away)
    • Hand distraction (hands detected near the face for an extended period of time)
    • Driver detected/undetected
    • Mask on/off

    The DMC200 emits a beep and LED blinking signals to alert the driver.
    When connected to BlackVue Cloud, users can receive DMS-specific push notifications and consult “Inattentive driving” reports on the BlackVue App or online at blackvuecloud.com.
