With the increased demand for LTE models and X-models with external LTE modules, our developers took a leap forward in improving the interface of registering a third-party SIM card. They have identified about five scenarios for activating a SIM Card.
CASE 1: Typing SIM Card Information Directly
1) Choose 3rd party SIM card in the Cloud Connection method screen.
2) Type APN, Username, and Password directly into the respective text boxes.
3) You can click the "?" icon to reveal information about the relevant field.
4) Click the Save button to register SIM Card information.
CASE 2: Search SIM Card Network Provider
Case 2.a. When SIM Card carrier is available on the list
1) Choose 3rd party SIM card in the Cloud Connection method screen.
2) Click the "Search" button.
3) A text box will be available to type the SIM card carrier name.
4) Type the SIM card carrier name in the text box and check if available on the list.
5) If available, select the SIM card carrier from the list of search results.
6) The selected SIM Card carrier will be displayed on the Network carrier text box. The name cannot be edited.
7) Since the name of the network carrier cannot be edited after being selected, click the "Search" button again to choose another carrier.
8) A warning message will be displayed for carrier information verification.
9) The APN (and Username/Password) will be automatically displayed after selecting the network carrier.
10) The information of the SIM card inserted in the device will be displayed.
11) You can click the "?" icon to reveal information about the relevant field.
12) Click the Save button to register SIM Card information.
Case2.b. When the SIM Card carrier is not available on the list
1) Choose 3rd party SIM card in the Cloud Connection method screen.
2) Click the "Search" button.
3) A text box will be available to type the SIM card carrier name.
4) Type the SIM card carrier name in the text box and check if available on the list.
5) If not available, select "Other network carrier".
6) "Other network carrier" will be displayed on the Network carrier text box. The name cannot be edited.
7) APN, Username, and Password should be typed in the text box.
8) The information of the SIM card inserted in the device will be displayed.
9) You can click the "?" icon to reveal information about the relevant field.
10) Click the Save button to register SIM Card information.
CASE 3: When SIM Card requires a code
Case 3.a. When a PIN Code is required
1) After selecting "3rd party SIM card" from the Cloud connection method page, the "Unlock with PIN code" page will be displayed.
2) Enter the PIN code of the SIM card.
3) The SIM Card information will be displayed on the same page as well.
4) When PIN Code is correct, it will proceed to the page where Network Carrier and SIM Card Information will be entered. If the PIN Code is entered incorrectly three times, the PUK Code will be required.
Case3.b. When a PUK Code is required
1) When the SIM Card is locked due to the wrong PIN Code entered, the "Unlock with PUK code" page will be displayed after selecting "3rd party SIM card" from the Cloud connection method page.
2) Enter the PUK code of the SIM card and create a new PIN code.
3) Press the "Unlock" button to proceed. When PIN Code is correct, it will proceed to the page where Network Carrier and SIM Card Information will be entered. If the PIN Code is entered incorrectly ten times, the SIM Card will be blocked.
CASE 4: When SIM Card is Network-locked
CASE 5: When a new SIM Card is detected
1) Choose 3rd party SIM card in the Cloud Connection method screen.
2) When a new SIM card is detected, it will be displayed on the next page.
3) The ICCID information of the new SIM card will be displayed.
4) You can select "No" to halt the SIM card activation process.
5) Select "Yes" to proceed with the activation of the new SIM card.
