Public Live View Usage

When you make your dashcam viewable by the public, does this count against the live view usage of a free account? I am not referring to the data usage of a hotspot.

I think that the few customers who are prepared to "go public" ought to be rewarded with unlimited live viewing.

The Live View restriction on a free account seems to only apply to your own usage of Live View on any Public Camera (including your own Public or Private).

Could BV support confirm how live view minutes are being counted? It is really not clear when they are used (under what conditions).

@NP, you are probably right. I have just tested some scenarios and indeed, live view minutes are being deducted based on you own usage (viewing)  time and not on the time when somebody is looking at the video from your own dashcam.

I guess we were all confused by the official FAQ:

    https://www.blackvue.com/blackvue-over-the-cloud/#1459934806687-e6489bbc-1013

it should be "Watch .... from your own or any other public BlackVue...."

And here comes a confirmation from support:

    "Good day from Blackvue.
The purchased will be under to your account.
If the you watch any dashcam live view (whether it is your dashcam or not), it will deduct to your live view time.
But if somebody watched live view of your dashcam using their own account, it will be deducted to them.
To summarize, your live view minutes will be deducted based on the cloud account being log in to watch it.
(based on your own usage (viewing)  time and not on the time when somebody is looking at the video from your own dashcam)

For your information,  the viewing time will be deducted from your free Live View minuter then from your Live View Add-on.
Viewing time is deducted in per second increment. Also, Live view add-ons do not expire and minutes are valid until completely used up.
