Firmware 1.007
I just installed Firmware 1.007. It hasn't fixed the motion detection sensitivity in parking mode. The Firmware defaults to a setting of 40 and that causes parking mode to record continuously. This needs to be fixed urgently as we have to disable parking mode recording by setting the motion sensitivity to zero. if it records continuously it completely overwrites your SD recordings after about 2 hours on a 16GB SD card.
Also, when I update the firmware it changes my location to Pacific instead of Europe/London. Changing it back to Europe/London wipes the SD card. Why does Blackvue not allow a firmware upgrade to remember your location to prevent this occurring?

Excellent points, David.
Significant reduction in Parking Mode Motion Sensitivity is long overdue and could improve the utility value of the product significantly.
The only reason given by Blackvue for having hyper-sensitive motion detection was the company did not want us to miss anything important. We are not worried about anything happening in the distance. Please just give us the ability to turn it right down (let us decide the setting ... because we only have ON or OFF at the moment)..
It would also be excellent if we could set different motion sensitivity for front and rear cameras, but I would settle for both being set the same (if that is not feasible).
The reset to Pacific Time at every firmware upgrade is a real nuisance. I am now running an interchangeable pair of 128Gb SD Cards to avoid the loss of road video at upgrade (this also provides an easy roll-back if the upgrade is faulty).

Although the high sensitivity in Parking mode is annoying, it was not announced to be lowered in version 1.007. So, I was not expecting that it had changed.
What was mentioned in the release notes, was the issue that the camera did not go out of Parking mode into Normal mode only after several minutes of driving. Another issue was that the camera went into Parking mode when driving with at continues speed on well paved roads. I have tested it and it seems to be improved to the level it had in 1.004.
For me, the high sensitivity in Parking mode it is not so very important, as I am living I a relatively busy environment, so a lot of movements are happening around the car (cars, bicyclist and people). So, I rely on impact detection only, setting the sensitivity of the G-sensors in parking mode almost at maximum. This results in an impact detection each time I slam the door of the car when in parking mode, but that is acceptable for me.
One request for future FW versions is the possibility to switch off all indication leds, including the Wi-Fi indication. (especially in Parking mode) as I don’t want to track attention to the camera in the car.0 -
Agreed that the parking environment will have a large effect on whether Motion Detection is a viable option. However, all we are asking for is Blackvue to give the user the ability to adjust the sensitivity way below where it is at "1 on a scale of 100" in firmware v1.007..
Regarding the LEDs I have resorted to my own non-firmware solution ... very small pieces of black electrical tape over the indicators. Not elegant, but it works until the firmware changes. Even the proximity switch on the main camera still functions OK when its LED is covered (must use the smallest piece of tape possible).

I think having the leds left on is good for security. If the thieves know there's a camera it can be a deterrent. I do have to turn off the rear camera led for when driving at night though, it's a distracton in the rear view mirror. The front camera leds are not a distraction because the camera is shielded from view by the rear view mirror.

Looked like the new firmware has disabled all recording if parking motion detection is set to zero. It hasn't recorded in normal mode either for two days. I set parking motion detection to value 9 and suddenly it starts recording again.

It's gone really flaky. It also loses cloud connection and fails to reconnect now.

I experience the same issue with the Wi-Fi cloud connection. When parked in front of my house, the camera only connects to the Wi-Fi home network once. Never again. I must switch the Wi-Fi on the camera off and on again and after that, it reconnects to my home network....There is only one strange thing....when connected to my mobile hotspot (telephone) it connects again and again.........

Hi Ronald,
Have you tried changing the order of your Firmware Cloud Tab Settings?
I have SSID 1 set to the Home Network WiFi, and SSID 2 set to the Mobile Hotspot.
This means that the system defaults to the Home Network WiFi (if it is in range), otherwise it locks on to the Mobile Hotspot (if turned on).
When I drive up the road the voice alert states that "the Cloud WiFi is out of range" which refers to the Home Network. After about a minute further up the road it says that "Cloud is connected" which refers to the Mobile Hotspot in the car.
I was wondering whether you have the Mobile Hotspot set as SSID 1 in the firmware? Is this the reason why it keeps reverting to the Mobile Hotspot?.
If you park at work as well and the Work WiFi is in range you could set the firmware for 1. Home, 2. Work and 3. Mobile Hotspot

Hello,
I have a problem with a device DR650S-2CH. I updated the system to version 1.007 which was successful and the device restarted. However, after 10 minutes the blue light was shining, the wifi connection and the red light was off. I formatted the memory card through computer, but nothing changed. I also tried another card but the result was again the same. I updated the system to version 1.006 The device is not responding and working.
How this issue can be solved?0
