Is Parking Mode Motion Detection Sensitivity firmware ADJUSTABLE with the DR750S ???

Like many owners of the DR650S I have found that Motion Detection Sensitivity is one of the adjustable settings in the firmware.  However, if you own a DR650S it is NOT adjustable.  It is either ON (from 1 to 100 on the settings) or OFF (0 on the settings).

Can any owner of the DR750S please verify whether the new model is ACTUALLY adjustable in this regard?  We want the camera to record when large objects move near the vehicle, but to ignore distant trees moving in the wind. This is definitely not possible with the DR650S ... but has Blackvue solved this problem for the DR750S range?

I don't want to waste money trying to upgrade to something with the same issue.

I second that request, and am very disappointed that Blackvue are not offering a fix for DR650S users.

I have the 750S-2CH, firmware 1.002, and I have not been able to get parking mode to work properly. It records all the time.

    Yes me too,

Same frustrating problem as many with over sensitivity in parking mode..Having seen Blackvue's  response to this issue and promising a fix with a firmware update in January -  I like many others are still waiting!!

Come on Blackvue get a grip,  your reputation depends on this!

I can attest that even with new Firmware 1.003 that was released in January, and motion sensitivity set to lowest setting (1), the camera still continually records cars moving past my parked car about 10 feet away.  Blackvue, fix this problem or this will be the last  blackvue camera I use.

    Dear Customers

     Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Our engineers are working on developing a new advanced parking mode scenario . In the new scenario you can choose the area on a frame to record motion in Parking mode. This feature will be launched in around April or May.

Our apologies again and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Hi Noman,

Finally, some good news! Is this going to be the 1.004 firmware or will there be another firmware update before April/May?

    Thank you.

    Dear Customers

We are continuously developing the parking mode feature and the performance of DR750S in terms of Parking mode scenario is significantly increased but due to some technical limitations overhauling the total scenario is a little time consuming but we are trying our best to implement it as soon as possible.

For Gary, there might be a firmware release in between but the firmware with a developed parking mode will be available in April/May.

    Thank you

Hi Noman, how is the firmware for advanced motion detection parking mode coming along?  You mentioned it would be released April/May, so we are approaching end of April and wanted to check in on this.

    Thanks.

    Dear Customers

Unfortunately due to some technical hurdles, the feature of including frame Parking mode scenario is delayed. The firmware containing this feature is expected to release in August in DR750S and DR900S dashcams. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

I have also just purchased a new dr750s and the motion sensor settings are so rediculously sensituve it is unusable. Yet despite blackvu's assurances they have done little to change this. On setting 1 I should not be receiving notifications of movement 20 feet away. God know what it would be like on the maximum setting as I am sure the dashcam would be detect aircraft flying overhead at 20,000ft.

When are you going to reduce the motion sensor sensitivity Blackvue??

When are you going to sort out the oversensitivity of the motion sensor Blackvue. You have had a number now complain about this and you have aknowledged it is an issue.

Mine is detecting motion from 20 feet away on setting 1, god knows what it would be like on setting 8, probably detecting aircraft overhead at 20,000.

    Please Blackvue, sort it....

I think you will find that 0 = OFF and 1 to 99 = ON.

I don't think that there is any sensitivity in the setting.

All you can do is switch off the Motion Sensing (=0) and set the Parking Mode Vibration Sensor for high sensitivity.

You will get a voice alert and a video recording each time you slam a door and drive off, but it may capture a genuine event as well.

Thanks for your reply NP and appreciate it. I have already worked that out for myself. Blackvue are aware, and seem to have been for about a year. Yet nothing...

The motion detection in dashcams is detected by comparing the difference in the consecutive frames. so either light condition is suddenly changed or some object moves infront of it, the dashcam will detect it.

In the recent FWs of 750S and 900S you can select the region of interest for motion detection. Try it out. It might help reducing the number of unnecessary recordings triggered by motion.

Yes, David as I thought and they will keep making out they are fixing the same issue on the newer models too, what a pity I believed them!- Let’s hope new customers are not so gullible!

It wont happen!  - they are only interested appeasing people that are, or maybe in warranty with the later models, that way they don't need to make refunds for people who complain.
