Recordings not saving to SDCard since Firmware Upgrade 1.001

Since upgrading the Firmware to version 1.001 for the BlackVue DR750S-1CH my recordings are not being saved to the SD Card, 128gb BlackVue. I have compared the contents of the firmware to the firmware version 1.004 for the BlackVue DR600GW, a previous dashcam I owned, the contents of each folder is different. Until the firmware is fixed I feel I need to reset the camera back to factory settings in order for the recordings to save to the SD Card again. Is there a way to do this?

     It seems like the firmware is not updated properly in your dashcam causing the issue.

    Please follow the procedure below to upgrade the firmware which should fix the issue.

    The SD Card has been formatted several times on the Mac using MS-DOS(FAT), and whilst installed in the camera. I copied the BlackVue folder that I had downloaded from the BlackVue website to the SD Card, installed the card into the camera and let it power up etc. I even attempted the Firmware Upgrade via the BlackVue app on the iPhone. Still no joy.

    Hello Richard

     It seems like the firmware is not properly getting installed in your dashcam. Can you please tell if the dashcam says "Starting Normal Recording" when you power it on?

    Also format the SD card and enter a formatted SD card into the camera. If the LED's remain on and the dashcam doesn't say "STarting Normal Recording". Then probably the dashcam is malfunctioning and in that case please contact the seller for RMA services.

    Let us know if you face any problems in getting the RMA Services.

    Yes when I power on its says; "BlackVue for your safe driving, starting normal recording"

    Yesterday, 09/11/2017, I formatted the SD Card, using the most secure option: see attached picture

     

    Since this method was taking some time, 10 hours in total, I decided to try an unused SD Card, the 16gb one that came with the dashcam, which I pre-orderd from BlackVue, Order# 83649 and I also ordered the 128gb SD card, which I am currently using with the dashcam, from BlackVue, Order# 83763.

    I inserted the 16gb card into the dashcam. When I powered on it said:-

    "Initialising SD Card, please do not disconnect the power"

    "Restarting"

    "BlackVue for your safe driving, starting normal recording"

    at this point I decided to wait a while until it went into parking mode.

    When it said "Parking mode on", I decided to check the app on the phone, and it looked like the recordings were being stored. I kept the 16gb SD Card in the dashcam, while I went out, as the 128gb SD Card was still formatting. However there seem to be some errors with the recordings whereby the camera had stopped recording, blue gps light was on but the red recording light was not, I checked the recording and sure enough there are chunks where the recording had stopped.     This morning, 10/11/2017, I inserted the 128gb SD Card, which had been formatted, into the dashcam. When I powered on it said:-

    "Formatting SD Card, please do not disconnect the power"

    "Restarting"

    "Initialising SD Card, please do not disconnect the power"

    "Restarting"

    "BlackVue for your safe driving, starting normal recording"

    At this point, I waited for a while before checking the app on the iPhone to see if the recordings were being saved. When I checked it looked like they were being saved, and everything was working as it should.

    I then decided to format the SD Card again and then copy the BlackVue folder from the firmware downloaded from the BlackVue website to the SD Card.

    When I inserted the SD Card into the camera and powered on this time it said: -

    "Upgrading, please do not disconnect the power"

    "Restarting"

    "Formatting SD Card, please do not disconnect the power"

    "Restarting"

    "Initalising SD Card, please do not disconnect the power"

    "Restarting"

    "BlackVue for your safe driving, starting normal recording"

    Again I waited to see if the recording were being saved, when I checked the app on the phone, it looked like they were, this seems to be confirmed it the BlackVue Viewer on the Mac as well.

    Hello Richard

     From your explanation it is confirmed that the firmware is uploaded successfully and the dashcam is working fine and it has no issues.

      Please note that During Parking mode, the dashcam doesn't record on SD card unless there is a movement which it saves as Parking files.

     So in case if you can't find any recordings after parking mode, it means there was no motion or event detected in Parking mode and its completely normal.

      Drive safe with blackvue and let us know if you have any queries in the future.
