Both lights in my dash came dr650gw-1ch are on, no wifi connection and it does not record

Hello there,

A week ago, I decided to take my SD card out of the dash came to watch the videos and to clear it in the same way. However, the surprise was that my Dash came (dr650gw-1ch) stopped recording almost 2 or 3 months ago. That was no problem, as everything in life get broken some time. the problem was that I tried to fix it, but I did not seem to be fixed. I tried to erase everything on the SD card and install the new Firmware, unplug and plug the power cord and press on the wife button, but the dash cam was still the same (both lights and wife sign are on and no wifi connection and no recording). Please, if you have a solution to this problem, let me and other people who have the same problem know.

Thanks

Ali

I also have exactly the same problem with my Blackvue, DR650GW-2CH, has this been fixed at all? If so, is someone willing to supply a fix for me as I'm currently getting no joy whatsoever from Blackvue. They keep telling me its the SD Card and to purchase a new one, I did, it didn't work - i also borrowed a friends SD card, who has exactly the same unit as me, bought at the same time, still my blackvue is unresponsive, but says its recording but it's not. Very very frustrated now!

Please send the following items at cs@pittasoft.com. We will analyze the issue you have with the dashcam and come up with a possible solution.

No. Not at all. Still have no working camera and no solution. Blackvue UK wouldn't even respond to any communication and Blackvue in Korea wanted me to send them 50 US Dollars before they would even look at it, plus the cost of sending it. I am extremely hacked off that I spent nearly £300 on this equipment, and after a couple of years, it's discontinued and they couldn't really give a stuff. Am looking to replace mine now but will not be looking at blackvue.

That's shocking customer service. I too paid around £300 for my cameras. To be fair they have worked faultlessly for around 4 years and I have been really happy with them. I understand that Blackvue are not responsible for repairing them at this age, but there should at least be some acknowledgement of this on here. I need these cameras for my job and will now be forced to purchase another brand.

Me too Jim, and the fact that we use these cameras in a professional capacity, shame on Blackvue. I will also be buying another brand. Shame as I loved them

    Hi All,

I've also experienced this issue recently. Both lights were solid (blue/red) on my 650s, the WIFI icon was lit, but no matter what i did, i could not connect to it. It wasn't recording, there was no speech from the camera. It was just a box with lights!

I followed many of the solutions provided to no avail, but.... finally this method worked for me. It may for you, it may not, but worth a shot!

1-Download the latest update for the phone app.

    2-Power off Dashcam

3-Remove SD card and format to FAT32 using a PC

4-Put SD card back into the dashcam, then hold down the WIFI/FORMAT button for 8 seconds and let go. (you should hear a message stating that its going to format the SD card.

5-Allow the firmware upgrade to take place, (it will do this after the format). Wait for the dashcam to reboot, and hey presto... this approach worked for me.

I know that format to FAT32 on a PC may seem a waste, but its the ONLY way i managed to get my camera back working.

However, for the people above, have you not thought about the the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Your dashcams if purchased in the UK should be covered by the 6 year fit for purpose ruling.

    https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/how-citizens-advice-works/citizens-advice-consumer-work/the-consumer-rights-act-2015/

Worth a punt. After all, you can get dashcams at a fraction of the price, but after extensive research at the time, this was best camera for me. Mine is 26 months old now.

Thanks Matt. Same problem here yesterday, and your fix worked for me. Had to laugh at the 6 year rule. I have had mine 6 years and 3 weeks.

I have the same problem with DR650S-1CH. All lights are on, but no wifi (does not broadcast anything), and nothing is recorded.  The camera worked 4 years before it died.
