Matthew Carmody With the earlier model I found a wobbly sunshade would activate the proximity sensor and turn the WiFi off.
Can you go into the options and disable the Prox Sensor? Otherwise I'd just mute the notification and ignore it.

Bill Doria I have the DR900X-2CH Plus, and after a firmware upgrade to v1.012, my proximity sensor (also set to Manual Recording) would do same thing.
Didn't have this issue before, and I did go back to v1.009, but the issue persisted (decided to upgraded back to v1.012).
My unit beeps instead of saying "Starting Manual Recording". It even beeps (setting a manual recording event),when a vehicle passes me on the left, or hit a bump.
Seems that the Proximity Sensor has now become Hypersensitive.
I think this is a firmware issue, and hopefully will be fixed in the next upgrade..
In the mean time, I set the Proximity Sensor to Off. -
Adrian Berry Ok, I’ve checked again. The sunshade on my car, a smart 451, is quite some distance from the proximity sensor and sits firmly snapped shut against the roof. The nearest object is the windscreen itself. The next nearest is the wires that come down from the roof lining by the BlackVue mounting bracket.
I’ve turned the down proximity sensor setting but the problem still happens.
So I turned it off completely. That stopped the problem and proves that it is something to do with the sensor.
Last thing to try is moving the wires completely away. -
Matteo Same happens to me. I had to disable manual recording.

Adrian Berry Yup, it’s not me, it’s a problem Apparently BlackVue tech people are investigating.

daniel same for me. damn annoying

daniel ... and I'm not even inside the parked vehicle!
-
daniel I can make force this to happen - its a software bug if you ask me.
I have a impact recording that appears in notifications, live event upload and on the cameras memory card (accessed via the 'camera' tab in the app).
If I try and access a playback from notifications, it wont play the file and pops up with ''the file has been overwritten or deleted'.. then out of the blue the camera starts manual recording.
I cant access the video from the live event tab either (same error message), but the video is on the memory card, since I can play it from the 'camera' tab when connected via wifi.
rubbish! :-(

Adrian Berry Hi Daniel, sounds like you may have a slightly different problem or maybe you have 2 separate problems. I have never had a problem accessing any of the video files, either directly from the card or remotely. Are you using a genuine BlackVue memory card? Apparently there are some inferior third party cards that are not so good with continuous video recording.
As for the Manual Recording issue, I suspect that it is caused but Radio Frequency Interference (RFI).The problem is definitely worse in some locations. For example a pub we regularly go has lots of bright LED floodlights in the car park. While parked I get a whole string of Manual Recordings. But parked outside our house, which have LED floodlights, I got no Manual Recordings at all. I’ve already shared this info with Tech support. -
daniel Yes, all straight out of the box. Triggers happen while driving on the motorway and sitting locked and unoccupied on our driveway. In any event, shouldn't be happening right!

Adrian Berry Exactly. I’ve had lots of detailed discussions and they are working on it. But the solution to some problems is sometimes quite hard to find.
-
Adrian Berry Suggest you talk directly to Tech Support. Then they will know it’s not just me!
Just out of interest, on what vehicle have you installed the camera? -
daniel Thanks. Ive raised a number of tickets.. quite slow to respond unfortunately.
