970X LTE starts Manual Recording by itself

My new 970X LTE frequently announces “Starting Manual Recording” when driving along. Both my hands are on the steering wheel so there is no way I’ve accidentally triggered the proximity sensor. I didn’t have this problem with my previous 750S Anyone got any ideas why it’s doing this? And how do I stop it?

With the earlier model I found a wobbly sunshade would activate the proximity sensor and turn the WiFi off.

Can you go into the options and disable the Prox Sensor? Otherwise I'd just mute the notification and ignore it.

I have the DR900X-2CH Plus, and after a firmware upgrade to v1.012, my proximity sensor (also set to Manual Recording) would do same thing.
Didn't have this issue before, and I did go back to v1.009, but the issue persisted (decided to upgraded back to v1.012).
My unit beeps instead of saying "Starting Manual Recording". It even beeps (setting a manual recording event),when a vehicle passes me on the left, or hit a bump.
Seems that the Proximity Sensor has now become Hypersensitive.
I think this is a firmware issue, and hopefully will be fixed in the next upgrade..
In the mean time, I set the Proximity Sensor to Off.

Ok, I’ve checked again. The sunshade on my car, a smart 451, is quite some distance from the proximity sensor and sits firmly snapped shut against the roof. The nearest object is the windscreen itself. The next nearest is the wires that come down from the roof lining by the BlackVue mounting bracket.
I’ve turned the down proximity sensor setting but the problem still happens.
So I turned it off completely. That stopped the problem and proves that it is something to do with the sensor.
Last thing to try is moving the wires completely away.

Same happens to me. I had to disable manual recording.

Yup, it’s not me, it’s a problem Apparently BlackVue tech people are investigating.
