Cannot Share Video on Whatsapp

Hello there,
I own a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with Android 8.1.0 installed and I recently found out that I cannot share videos of my dashcam on Whatsapp anymore.
Here's a link where I'll show the issue:

https://youtu.be/jZV_cmEg7-E

As you can see in the first video I shared (recorded on the 12th June 2018 and it's 190 MB video file), everything was fine.
The second one (recorded yesterday, the 4th August 2018 and it's a 120 MB video file), received the error message: "Can't send this video. Choose a different video and try again."
Both videos were recorded in the extreme mode but in the first one I had the 1.006 firmware installed, in the second one I had the 1.009 installed.
So I wonder, did recent firmwares change the video file format somehow?

By the way, before writing this post I had already contacted the Whatsapp support and they told me it could be a connectivity issue but as you could see from the video I linked, that's not the problem. I think it's the video itself.
I hope it can help you figure it out.
Have a great day.

Cheers!

Hello Mike I found the firmware in a dashcam forum 2 years ago. I looked for the specific thread but I couldn't recover it. Fortunately I saved it on Mega:

I'm pretty sure this firmware is for the DR750S-2CH only. I hope it helps you.

    Cheers!

    Hello Noman,

I wrote the size of the two videos in the brackets in the previous post, which are 190 MB for the video I could share ; 120 MB for the video I couldn't share.
I tried to share a parking mode video as well as a rear cam video, but none of them I could share.
I don't think the size matters because Whatsapp compresses videos somehow.
Please check the link I gave to you.

    Have a great day.

    Hello Noman,
The link you gave me does not work, it says it was probably deleted.
By the way, I managed to find the 1.006 firmware version in a website where Blackvue customers keep all the firmware versions.
I downgraded to the 1.006, I drove a couple of Km and all the videos (normal mode, event, parking mode and manual recording), including those recorded in Extreme Mode up to 190 MB of size, can be shared via Whatsapp with NO issue.
I hope you guys will figure that out.
    Have a great day.
    Cheers!

    Hello there again,

I recently updated my DR750S to the latest firmware (1.014) and I've sadly noticed that the issue of not being able to share videos on Whatsapp remains.

Why's that? I though you guys could figure that out.

    Cheers

Just want to ressurect this post as I just got a refurb 750s 2ch and I cannot share to Whatsapp. Even after I back the videos up to Google cloud and try and send them from there.
I did a firmware update right out of the box.
Any solutions or work arounds ?

    Hello Miami Mark,
As I said in the previous posts, just downgrade to the 1.006 firmware.
I don't remember where I found it but I'm sure that with a quick search on the web, you'll find it. If you don't find it then I'll try to look for it for you.
    Cheers!

Hello! I would like to know where you find the 1.006 firmware. Also is the firmware dash cam specific? I would like to send videos via WhatsApp and it still seems to be an issue. Looks like you are the only one who found a work around.

    Hello,

I am the new user of dr900x and unfortunately the problem with sharing videos to Whatsapp/Messenger still persists.

Guys the issue was reported in 2018, cloud and social sharing features are core nowadays...that's just embarrassing, shame! :|

Luca G... I have found a workaround.. If you have a PC or laptop you can download them onto that. If you then install the whatsapp desktop app you can share them that way. Still no idea why they won't share via phone though

    Dear Customer

The video file format is not changed in the v1.009 firmware. In our apoint of view, this is related to the file size. Can you please check the difference between the two file sizes? Also please try to upload a Parking video, which is relatively smaller in size and see if it can be uploaded.

If the issue persists, please let us know.

    Thank you

    Hello Noman,
Since I'm a curious person, could you please provide me a link where to download the firmware version 1.006 for the DR750S-2CH?
I just need to check something by myself.
    Thanks again.
    Cheers!!!

John Gow all you can do is to upload the video on Youtube and share the link.
It's been 5 years since I reported that issue and no fix has been given to us.
    Cheers

Luca G. That is crazy. I've tried downloading it onto my phone and it still doesn't work either. You'd have thought there'd have been a fix by now. Ty

Me pasa lo mismo, por Telegram si se puede compartir pero WhatsApp da problemas. Es debido al formato del vídeo que aunque sea mp4 tiene datos GPS y demás que provocan incompatibilidades, debes hacerlo a través de Telegram o por pc
