My DR590w-2ch SD Card seems to be corrupted with a bunch of problems - in the BlackVue app, it will display the correct recording file (e.g. date/time), but when I go in to view the recording, it brings up a video from a week ago. Even after a day or two, I'll try to view the new recordings again, and the same file from a week+ ago comes up. I tried plugging the SD card into my PC and deleting the files. First, the process was super slow (not sure if it was because it was an old computer, the files are large-ish, or both), and then the SD card wouldn't let me delete the majority of the files (I deleted 320mb of 32gb, and then it gave me an error message saying it couldn't delete the rest). It cleared up enough space for about 2 minutes' worth of new recordings, but I can never access them. I get the error message about the video not being able to be displayed currently. I attempted to update the firmware, which downloaded onto my phone fine, but then when I upload the firmware from my phone to the dashcam, it doesn't go through - it seems to upload fine, then the dashcam restarts, but when I reconnect the wifi, the app says it still has the update available for upload without having actually updated the firmware. Any thoughts? Is the SD card useless now, or is there something I can do to go in and either delete the old (potentially corrupt) files or reset everything? Thanks in advance.

Meghan I have literally the exact same issue Alyssa has described, to a T. Same model, same problems, tried all the same things, same everything.

Alyssa Baldo Meghan - I talked with Blackvue customer service, and they said the chip is fried given that I receive the "SD card write protected" message when I try to change anything. I have to contact the seller I bought the chip from, and they said I should send it to them (the seller) to be fixed and returned or replaced. However, I was barely within the 6 month warranty on the card, and had I waited a day later to contact the seller, the warranty would have been void. If you're still within warranty, contact your seller to get the card fixed/replaced. But it seems like you'll be SOL if you're outside of the window. I'm contemplating buying a backup Blackvue brand microSD card off Amazon to use while the faulty one is getting fixed (I have a feeling it's going to take forever for them to fix it and send it back), but half the reviews are great while the other half are deplorable, claiming that the cards become faulty pretty soon after purchase and customer service is horrible. A 16GB microSD card on Blackvue's site is $20, but then it's another $23 for shipping, so Amazon seems the better option at $25 with free shipping. However, now I'm becoming skeptical that the whole Blackvue dashcam system is a good idea but just a big hassle and waste of money in reality given all the problems and negative reviews based on my own experience and others' reviews.

Christopher Spence Be aware that there are many micro SD card for sale on eBay and Amazon that are fake. For example, they claim 32GB and look very genuine. You insert the card into a pc and it says it has the 32GB capacity. However, it is a lesser capacity (example 2GB) dressed up to look like more. The device you plug the SD card into thinks it is 32GB and will happily fill up the card with 32GB of data. However, most of what has been written to the card has been lost because it is not really 32GB.
Do not buy from eBay or Amazon. Only buy from a reputable retailer. You can get capacity checking programs for your PC that will write the claimed amount of GB to the card and then try to read it back to ensure it is what it says it is.
