Battery Power

Hi David, you may have resolved this issue by now, I had a similar issue that I have only just sorted after nearly 12 months.

to cut a long story short my original bear battery was only producing 10.5 volts discovered when fitting the dash cam, checking which fuses are live when engine is off and on. So power magic never worked in parking mode. Had new battery fitted last January but the camera never worked for long, even at the 12v setting. Suffered this until this week when the new battery started letting me down I.e. Car not starting. Got the battery replaced under warranty, it was a dud from new, and it seems to work fine, been in parking mode now for 24 hours, and the battery is still about 12.4 volts.

    Hi Chris,

No, the problem is still there. My car battery is still good for everything else except for the PMP. 4 hours maximum. I have the PMP connected to the battery in the boot of the car.

Hi David, what have learned it’s been working ok is the car needs a good run to fully charge the battery, ie if I do 5 mile journey only it only runs for a a few hours, if I do 20 plus it can last over 12 hours. Other things effect it like using the heated seats on a short run.

Chris my commute is 11 miles, about 20 minutes on motorway. For that I get 4 hours. I use the dab radio and charge my phone during the trip. I might try unplugging the PMP and connecting it through the Jaguar battery monitoring system, see if that's any better.
