manual recording additional options

I often use manual recording to flag times when other drivers do something stupid around me.
Usually this is after the fact. I have to find the flagged recording, then search back a few minutes to find the actual thing I want.
It would be nice if there was an option for manual recording to also flag the previous 1-5 minutes.

Please give us an option for manual recording to
1. Record for X seconds / minutes
2. Also flag previous X seconds / minutes
3. Mute recording while speaking "manual recording" so it doesn't show up in the video (or find some way to digitally remove that audio)

Thanks!

Most likely this won't happen as it was suggested before a lot. But you never know. :)

I'm pretty much having the same issue that you're describing. I "solved it" myself by using a programm to download all event/manual recording files and additional one pre/post video file after my DR750S connects to my home wifi (the pre-event file is most often what you want). If your blackvue is not cloud compatible this would only work by connecting to it directly via wifi. I have that programm running on a raspberry pi which saves the files onto my local network share drive.

Do you mind sharing your setup? I emailed support asking about having a laptop downloading video via wifi and was told it was impossible (DR900 2 channel, its got wifi, I can download through the app on my phone)

It would be easy to get a raspberry pie and wire it in just to monitor / download videos from my camera while driving. Added bonus, I could have larger storage, the blackvue seems limited to 128gigs and that fills up pretty damn fast

Yeah, they really like telling you that it won't work. (unless to start to pay)

I logged all data transmission of my 750S. Unfortunately, the only way to download the files is by having "direct" access to port 80 of the camera. This means that accessing it is only possible when the camera is connected to your home's wifi or to a mobile hotspot with a non-shared ip adress which can be used to open ports on the mobile router. (my internet provider uses shared ip adresses for mobile data, so I can only access it from home)

But this still makes sense as you can be sure that everything will be saved "over night". It's still a work in progress but the core functionality is there. (Tested with my DR750S, should work with all cloud cameras) If you provide me with an email adress I can send you the beta version. It's pretty straight forward and easy to understand using mainly php.

I don't know much about coding but Im pretty sure I can find a 12v router at my local thrift stores, it shouldn't be too hard to wire into the vehicle for power, the hard part is gonna be finding out how to set up a raspberry pie or similar so it transfers files automagically.

It's pretty easy, there are a lot of tutorials out there. You don't really need any knowledge at all :)

    Greetings All,

I am a newbie and have read the manual but still do not see how I can manually record.  I do not see a button, or way to do this.

Please share with me, how you manually record an event.

Hey, there should be a touch sensor on the left of the camera. If enabled in the settings, waving your hand in front of it will trigger the manual recording (for 1min).
