Reduce power consumption

Hi, Is there a way of reducing the power consumption in parking mode without switching off the rear camera? I have just purchased and fitted a B-124X and it’s only lasting about 10 hours in parking mode.

That’s odd, my B-124 (6Ah) can handle about 16hours in combination with DR900S-2CH. Everything at max, events triggered by motion/G-sensor, rear channel all the time, Wifi on (cloud enabled), it consumes about 0.3-0.4Ah.

    How old is your battery?

The battery has been fitted for 2 days!
The place the car is parked during the night is a very quiet street so there can’t be a lot of triggers. My wifi isn’t connecting every time I park the car.

How much power your dashcam draws from the battery? (you can check via app)

Are you able to fully charge it during drive?

Just out of curiosity, did you catch how much power was already in the battery when you got it? (at least if it was empty or full)

The dash cams are drawing 14.4v/0.4A in normal mode and 13.4v/0.4A in parking mode.
The battery had no charge when fitted.
Again over night the battery lasted around 10 hours!
I’m stating to get very disappointed with this equipment! I’ve serpent a lot of money on this system and it does not live up to expectations!

If the battery was empty when you got it, it’s either old or used and that’s probably why it has such specs.
About your expectations: Welcome to the club xD. Actually, i returned my DR900S-2CH in a year of use, after 4 RMAs (mostly heat related issues).

The box was sealed and the it was purchased direct from amazon so I know it’s genuine, as for old who knows. All I know is it’s not lasting the time it’s supposed to!
My D900S 2ch seems to run hot, even though I’m in the uk so it’s nothing to do with the weather. I have just noticed if I live view the camera over the cloud the audio has loud hissing and clicking sound too. I’m going to view the footage direct from the memory card and see if the audio is the same.

DR900S-2CH runs hot all the time (almost unable to touch) but the "loud hissing and clicking sound" sounds odd.

It seems like defective battery to me because to last only 10hours means the dashcam should draw about 0.6A, which it doesn't. (or it doesn't charge up to real 100% => 100% in the app doesn't necessarily mean there really is 100% charge)

I drove the car on a 200 + mile round trip the day after the battery was fitted, so it was definitely fully charged!
Yes the hissing clicking audio is strange and something that needs looked into but that’s another issue to deal with some other time.
My camera gets very hot, too hot to touch.
I thought the audio issue and temperature might of been linked, that’s why I mentioned it.
