Infinite “BlackVue for your safe driving” loop.

Dashcam is in infinite boot loop where it powers on with the chime “BlackVue for your safe driving” REC light blinks for 10secs then both REC and GPS lights flash rapidly in an alternating pattern until the Dashcam climes “BlackVue for your safe driving” This repeats indefinitely. I’ve removed and reformatted the SD card with my MAC twice, issue still occurs. Although I bought this quite a while ago, I only installed it for the first time couple months ago.

Use the reformat function on the cam itself.

If it doesnt work - try another SD card.

It happens to me as well. I have had the same SD card for a year with no issues. I bought a new SD card and put it in yesterday. Here is what I believe is happening. I believe the camera is getting too hot (cannot leave a finger on it longer than one second) and the SD card cannot function in a really hot camera. Why do I believe this is what is happening? The loop for me stops happening after the camera has cooled down enough for the SD card to be read. Once that happens, the loop stops and the camera functions as it should. Anyway, it is just a working hypothesis on my part so I am testing this with a new SD card.

The camera button is unresponsive, I can’t reformat the card in the dashcam. I can do with with the BlackVue MAC viewer. Didn’t solve my problem.

It has been scorching hot lately but It was 70-degrees all day yesterday in my area of California while this issue was happening. I have noticed the camera is hot to the touch, but I don’t know what temp it should be so I have nothing to compare it to.

if heat is the issue here, get the car/cam sheltered and cooled overnight if possible.

start the car/cam and once it starts and behaves normally, try to use the format function on the cam.

i'm not sure if my hypothesis works, but worth a try.

we have constant 30+ deg C in Singapore and if the car is out in the sun the whole day, its definitely hotter than ambient temps.

    hope this helps.

Yea I usually wait for either the air conditioning to cool the inside of the car down or try it first thing before the sun comes up. The temps where I am have been around 39 - 41 C/ 105 - 107 F.

I don’t think heat is the issue here, it’s 63F here In California at 9am. Problem still persists.

Unless the 102F temp we had 4 days ago fried the cam...

I also park my car in garage while at home and work. Plus all my windows are ceramic heat deflecting tinted.

Well then your issue may not be heat-related; I agree with you. I hope you figure it out soon because, like you, the message loop drives me nuts! lol

Update: I put in a SanDisk SD Card I had laying around the house. Problem solved.

The $130 BlackVue SD Card is garbage.

Yep I made the same mistake. I bought that card initially and it was total garbage. I had the SanDisk Extreme working for a little more than one year and then started getting the loop. I just installed a new SanDisk High Endurance and the loop stopped FOR ONE DAY! I have spent more time on what should be a no brainer! I am questioning whether or not to simply remove this camera from my car and try another brand.
